ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THEREOF

An electrophoretic display device and a method for driving the same are provided to display different brightness levels or different colors, thereby improving the display performance. An electrophoretic member is formed on a first electrode. The electrophoretic member includes first to third electrophoretic particles(325a,325b,325c) having different charges, and a dispersion medium(310) for dispersing the first to third electrophoretic particles. A second electrode(220) is formed on the electrophoretic member. First to sixth driving voltages are applied between the first electrode and the second electrode to move the first to third electrophoretic particles selectively, thereby displaying different brightness levels or different colors. All the first to third electrophoretic particles have plus charges or minus charges.
