The panel may be applied to all walking beam furnace types with an automatic stepping. Its nature is based on the fact that it consists of a plane-shaped flange (3) to which an internally cooled flat plate (1) is attached through draw bars (4). The flange (3) and cooled flat plate (1) are provided with a vertical through-hole for the bedding of the buffer body (7) and the space between the flange (3) and the flat plate (1) is filled with a refractory material (2).<IMAGE>
