PORCELAIN COMPOSITION HAVING HIGH DIELECTRIC CONSTANT

PURPOSE:To improve the electrical characteristics and breakdown strength of a Pb-contg. porcelain compsn. and to prolong the service life by incorporating prescribed percentages of Y and Zr into the porcelain compsn. having a high dielectric constant. CONSTITUTION:This porcelain compsn. having a high dielectric constant is formed by incorporating 0.01-5wt.% (expressed in terms of Y2O3) Y and 0.01-0.5wt.% (expressed in terms of ZrO2) Zr into a perovskite type porcelain compsn. contg. Pb as a constituent element and having a high dielectric constant. The perovskite type porcelain compsn. contg. Pb may be based on Pb(Mg1/3 Nb2/3)O3, Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 or PbTiO3, etc.
