PURPOSE:To make smooth the rotation of a rotary sleeve, by slidably fitting vanes in independent circumferential grooves formed successively in the axially direction in the peripheral surface of the rotary sleeve. CONSTITUTION:The front ends of vanes 16 which are slidably fitted respectively in grooves 15 in a rotor 10 make in contact with a rotary sleeve 30 surrounding the rotor 10. Independent circumferential grooves which are formed successively in the axial direction in the inner peripheral surfae of the rotary sleeve 30 and therefore, slidably hold the vanes 16 so that the contact area between the inner peripheral surface of the rotary sleeve and the front sliding end face of each vane is made large. With this arrangement the rotary sleeve 30 is forcingly rotated in association with the rotation of the rotor 10 even upon starting, and therefore, dynamic pressure is very rapidly created in an air-bearing chamber 40 to provide smooth rotation. |
