PURPOSE:To improve reliability of a recorder by preventing ink from increasing viscosity and fixing due to vaporization by a method wherein a pivoting position setting means which establishes a recording head or a mounting means to a pivot position corresponding to a thickness of a recording medium in a recording area, and at a specific pivot position for a position opposed to a recovery means, is provided. CONSTITUTION:Since a discharge recovery device 30 prevents a vicinity of a discharge opening from drying by covering a surface of the discharge opening and besides, sucks the discharge opening by reducing pressure in a cap 31, it can remove causes for discharge inferiority such as increased viscous ink, an air bubble, etc. Further, a position to a carriage 20 of a guide roller 10 is varied by operating a regulation lever 104, and a distance between a front 11 d' of a recording head and a surface Pa to be recorded is made to keep l1 by making the carriage 20 pivot. Further, since the carriage 20 pivots with a guide pin 111 and a guide part 112 irrespective of its gradient state, the cap 31 comes always under a same state in contact with the front of the recording head. Therefore, capping can be certainly performed, and a hermetically sealed state is secured. Then, non-discharge by viscosity increase and fixedly sticking of ink caused by vaporization of ink solvent can be prevented. |
