PURPOSE:To enable a distance from the front of a head to the surface of a medium to be regulated according to a thickness of a recording medium by a method wherein pivoting of a recording head by using a guide shaft as a pivot is generated by displacement of a lever. CONSTITUTION:A position to a carriage 20 of a guide roller 105 borne in a rotary free manner with a regulation lever 104 is varied by operating the regulation lever 104. The carriage 20 is made to pivot by using a guide shaft 70 as a rotary center, and a distance between a front 11 d' of a recording head and a surface Pa to be recorded is made to keep l1. By pivot of the lever 104, the guide roller 105 is displaced left in the arrow E direction. At the same time, a guide pin 111 is displaced in the arrow D direction, and a rear end of the carriage 20 is displaced in the arrow D direction. At that time a projected part 23 is energized upward with a fixed spring, and a downward displaced striking against part 22A abuts against a projected part 24A. A positional relation between the carriage 20 and the lever 104 is thus fixed. |
