PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient capacity of torque forming a viscous coupling or the like in a large diameter with the necessity for bolt insertion space eliminated by providing in a ring gear a stud bolt so as to be tightened by a nut between a flange and the viscous coupling or a friction clutch. CONSTITUTION:A ring gear 51, providing a stud bolt 53, is fixed to flanges 45, 47 in the side of a differential gear case 43 by the bolt 53 and a nut 55. In this fixing work, the nut 55 is inserted between the flange 45 and a viscous coupling 37, calling the bolt 53. Accordingly, insertion space S of the nut 55 is only less required than the insertion space in the past. Thus because the narrower insertion space S is only required, the necessity for placing distant the coupling 37 in the axial direction, for avoiding the gear 51 from its interference with a mounting member, is eliminated. Accordingly, a sufficient capacity of torque can be given with the coupling 37 formed in a large diameter. While because a span of bearings 31, 33 is not spread, a housing 29 generates no deterioration of its rigidity, being advantageous for noise and vibration.
