<p>PURPOSE:To prevent light leakage and to enhance the sharpness of images by disposing the one-side ends of connecting films onto the projecting parts which are provided to wedge themselves into the spacings between scanning electrodes or picture element electrodes and making MIM elements therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The picture element electrodes 20 are formed to the patterns of a perfectly square shape and the scanning electrodes 30 to the patterns of a simply slender shape, respectively. The connecting films 50 are formed to the patterns of a rectangular strip shape in which the top ends of the films come into conductive contact with the corner parts of the square shapes of the respective picture element electrodes 20. The bottom ends thereof are put on insulating films 40 covering the scanning electrodes 30. The MIM elements 60 are respectively made between the bottom ends of the connecting films 50 and the scanning electrodes 30. Recesses which do not contribute to the display are eliminated in the picture element electrodes in this way and the opening rate of the display panel is improved. The display which is bright over the entire part is obtd. and the leakage of light unrelating to the bright and dark display in the display areas of the respective picture elements is eliminated in these areas and the sharpness of the picture elements is improved.</p> |
