PURPOSE:To enable the removal of bad smells of amines by using, as an effective component, a material obtained by the extraction from cacao husks which are the husks of cacao beams after the roasting with a high polar solvent. CONSTITUTION:A smell removing agent contains as an effective component a material obtained by extracting from cacao husks with a high polar solvent. Cacao beams are separated into cacao nibs and cacao husks through fermentation process and roast process. As the extracting solvent for cacao husks, high polar solvents such as ethanol and water are preferred, but it is not limited by these materials. The extraction is conducted at room temperature for about 24 hours, the extract is concentrated under reduced pressure to remove the solvent, and a smell removing component is obtained as a solid material. Hence, products such as chewing gum, candy, and drinks containing a smell removing formulation, having smell removing effect and holding the essential tasting property are provided. In the manufacture of these products, the smell removing formulation is preferably added in an amount of 0.01-1% by weight. |
