PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF NEW ANTIBIOTIC 6270

Antibiotic 6270 (I) and its salts are new when it has the following properties: (a) acidic, colorless needles; (b) mpt 115-118 C; (c) elemental analysis (found) C 62.72%, H 9.49%, O 27.78%; (d) specific rotation -11.5 deg (C= 1.0, methanol), etc. Prodn. of (I) involves growing a microorganism belonging to the genus Nocardiopsis in a culture medium. (I) is an anticoccidiosis agent, and so it is useful in domestic fowl and animals for preventing and treating coccidiosis.
