Prepn. having a coating of film-forming enteric polymer and, as plasticiser, a mono- and/or di-ester of glycerol with a 6-10C satd. aliphatic carboxylic acid is new. The plasticisers are highly effective in aq. and in organic solvent based systems for appln. of the polymer coating to granules, pills, capsules, tablets, powders, etc., to give enterically coated prods.. Pref. the acid has 6, 8 or 10C and it is esp. octanoic acid. The polymer may be carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, cellulose acetate phthalate, methyl acrylate -methacrylic acid copolymer, starch acetate phthalate, cellulose acetatesuccinate, styrenemaleic acid copolymer, starch polyacetate, cellulose benzoate phthalate, methylcellulose phthalate, ethylhydroxyethyl cellulose phthalte, cellulose acetate maleate, etc..
