Rotary mower with a mower bar having mowing tools on its underside and articulated on an inner or on an outer supporting beam and is mounted on the inner supporting beam about a horizontal pivot axis and on which or on the outer supporting beam of which is articulated the outer end of a remotely operable regulating means of variable length which is articulated at the inner end on the inner supporting beam and which is provided for driving the mowing tools with a power take-off gear which has a profiled input shaft and which is driven via a cardan shaft and a profiled output shaft by an angular gear attached to the supporting beam and driven from the tractor. A braking device is connected to the power take-off gear, and a coupling device is inserted into the force flux between the countershaft and profiled output shaft of the angular gear. There is a transmitter which, when the pivoting position for the highest working position of the mower bar is exceeded, emits a signal which, via a switching means, opens the coupling device and actuates the braking device. The arrangement is constructed from either mechanical, hydraulic or electrical components. |
