[PROBLEMS] To efficiently extract at least the same level of electric power energy as that by conventional power generation system without the occurrence of problems attributed to fuel resources. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The power generation system is one comprising carbon dioxide producing unit (81); noncombustion power generation unit (82); primary carbon dioxide producing unit (83) for performing compression liquefaction of the carbon dioxide (35) discharged from the carbon dioxide producing unit; secondary carbon dioxide producing unit (90); and carbon dioxide engine (1) having the primary carbon dioxide producing unit and secondary carbon dioxide producing unit connected thereto, wherein the secondary carbon dioxide producing unit (90) consists of refrigeration section (57), carbon dioxide compression liquefaction sections (69a,69b) and compression liquefied carbon dioxide storage tank (73), these sections connected to each other to thereby provide circuit (34) for circulation of carbon dioxide, and wherein pressure regulation tank (72) is added to the circulation circuit (34). The noncombustion power generation unit (82) is adapted to supply electric power to the primary carbon dioxide producing unit and secondary carbon dioxide producing unit, and the carbon dioxide engine (1) is an engine worked by expansion of the volume of carbon dioxide (35a) supplied in the condition of high pressure, by which power generation is carried on. |
