PURPOSE: To form a copy anamorphically reduced or enlarged by providing a slit assembly having a slit aperture being narrower than width and arrayed along an optical axis between the output surface of a lens array and an image surface. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with illumination means 38 and 39 constituted to radiate a narrow and strong luminous flux to the continuous part of an original document to be copied and a linear lens array 40 having distributed refractive index arranged in the optical axis to project light reflected from the original document at the time of scanning and forming a radiation illuminance profile 70 for an image surface having the 1st width d1 . Then, the device is equipped with a means for scanning/illuminating the original document at speed selectively varied with the speed of the image surface, and the slit assembly 50 attacked between the output surface of the lens array 40 and the image surface and having the slit aperture 51 having width d2 smaller than the 1st width d1 . Thus, the resolution of copying is maintained at the time of forming the image distorted in a scanning direction and obtained by anamorphically enlarging/reducing the original document. |
