Process for removing biomass and harvested cells from culture broths

Before concentration of the biomass by mechanical separating devices, the culture broth is subjected to a combined temperature/ acid treatment. The biomass concentration which can be achieved thereby is up to 50% higher than in processes disclosed to date.
