Airbag

The invention relates to an airbag for motor vehicles, consisting of an inflatable fabric cushion with two fabric webs stitched to one another and consisting of plastic fibres. For a simple and also reliable inflation of the airbag, provision is made for the two fabric webs to be formed from a double-pile fabric which is not cut open and has a top cloth and bottom cloth and the fabric-web edges of which are interwoven, and for individual pile threads to connect the top cloth and bottom cloth at a variable distance from one another at tying-off points arranged in a dispersive manner.
