A coating apparatus is provided to form a coating film with a uniform thickness particularly on a continuously moving web, and to realize a smooth coating film surface free from stains or spots. A coating apparatus(10) comprises: a backup roller section(21) having a backup roller whose outer circumferential surface supports an elongated web running in the longitudinal direction, and a coating solution feeding section(18) for supplying the coating solution to the web, which faces to the backup roller(20) while having a clearance with a predetermined distance from the backup roller. The coating solution feeding section and both sides of the backup roller section are supported on a single support die(30), and the die is fixed on an active vibration damping unit(32). |
