PURPOSE:To obtain organic fiber having incombustible performance imparted thereto by impregnating two solutions capable of producing an incombustible inorganic compound into organic fiber having cell holes at a low temperature, then drying the fiber at a high temperature and subsequently adhering the incombustible inorganic compound to the interiors of the cell holes and/or inner walls thereof in the above-mentioned fiber. CONSTITUTION:Organic fiber having cell holes (e.g. fiber of pine or SUGI wood) is impregnated with a solution containing a water-soluble inorganic substance (e.g. calcium or barium) at a low temperature (5-30 deg.C) as the first solution and the second solution capable of producing a water-insoluble incombustible inorganic compound at a low temperature is then impregnated thereinto and then dried at a high temperature of >=50 deg.C. Both solutions are reacted to adhere or apply >=33wt.% (based on the weight of the organic fiber) incombustible inorganic compound into the interiors of the cell holes and/or inner walls thereof in the aforementioned fiber. Thereby, the objective improved organic fiber having incombustible performance imparted thereto is obtained. |
