In the case of a closure cap for rod-shaped writing appliances (11), with a cap housing (K) and a clip (C), the said clip (C) can be pivoted from a normal position, in which its free end (1) is situated close to the cap housing (K), to an outward position in which its free end (1) sticks out from the cap housing (K), the clip (C) being held secure in the said outward position. In order to be forced to move from the normal position into the outward position upon removal of the closure cap from the writing appliance (11), the clip (C) is coupled by mechanical means to the inside (5 to 8, 10) of the cap housing (K). <IMAGE>
