PURPOSE:To obtain the image of good quality by controlling the light emitting time of a light beam. CONSTITUTION:The density of the image obtained by developing a latent image formed on an image carrier (photosensitive drum) 30 is detected. In response to the density range of the detected image, the light emitting time of the light beam 64 for forming the latent image on the image carrier is made shorter, for example, when the detected density is high. Meanwhile, when the detected density is low, the light emitting time of the light beam 64 is made longer. Namely, the density of the developer of the latent image formed on the image carrier 30 is detected and the light emitting time of laser light 64 is controlled in accordance with the density. Thus, the image of good quality is formed without receiving the effect of the change of environment such as temperature and humidity. |
