PURPOSE:To provide a woven fabric elastic body having good strength and elasticity by filling a reinforcing elastic material in the inner and outer portions of a spaced net-like woven fabric having spaced elastic portions comprising slightly shrunk fibers to integrally combine the fibers with the elastic material, the spaced net-like woven fabric being formed by heat-treating a woven fabric prepared by weaving two kinds of synthetic fibers having different thermal shrinkabilities, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Synthetic fibers having a small thermal shrinkability and a synthetic fibers having a large thermal shrinkability are woven in warp and weft directions, respectively, to prepare a woven fabric, followed by heat-treating the woven fabric to prepare a spaced net-like woven fabric wherein the slightly shrinkable fibers are bent in a wave state to form the spaced elastic portions 3 of the slightly shrinkable fibers on the surfaces 2a and 2b of a woven fabric comprising the largely shrinkable fibers. A reinforcing elastic material 4 comprising a foaming agent, a latex, etc., is injected into the inner and outer portions of the prepared spaced net-like woven fabric and foamed and cured to integrally combine the spaced net-like woven fabric with the reinforcing elastic material to provide a light and tough woven fabric elastic body 5 having good strength, stiffness and elasticity. The woven fabric elastic body 5 can be widely utilized for cushion mats, bed interlinings, shoe sole materials, etc. |
