AUTONOMOUS DISPERSION TYPE FAST BREEDER REACTOR SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To improve safety, economics and reliability by exchanging heat between a coolant naturally circulating in a main reactor vessel accommodating a plurality of small-scale fast breeder reactor cores and a small-scale steam generator, and the small-scale steam generator. CONSTITUTION:Small-scale unit type fast breeder reactor cores 22 in a plurality (eight in the figure) are arranged in a circle inside a main reactor vessel 21. A cartridge type steam generator 23 formed of an assembly of small-scale steam generators is disposed in the central part of the circle of the cores. Liquid sodium 20 naturally circulating in a direction shown by arrow 27 is filled up in the main reactor vessel 21, so as to cool the unit type reactor 22 having a core 28. The cartridge type steam generator 23 is supplied with heat from the sodium 20 and it changes water supplied 25 into steam 26 and supplies it to a turbine not shown. A direct core cooling device 24 is controlled as occasion demands. According to this constitution, the safety, economics and reliability of a system are improved.
