Use of magnetic fields in rocket motors

In the case of a rocket motor having a combustion chamber and an adjacent expansion nozzle, in order to improve the performance capability of said motor it is provided that a coil arrangement, in order to generate an electromagnetic field, is provided at least in the outlet region of the combustion gases from the combustion chamber. The coil arrangement preferably has turns made of a superconductive material whose critical temperature is higher than the boiling points of liquid rocket fuels, the turns being cooled by means of the liquid rocket fuel.
