In order to permit a determination for disposing of quantities of waste on the basis of their actual weight, the invention proposes a method for waste disposal in which a container holding the waste is brought to a discharging device, is conveyed by this device into a discharge position, is emptied and, after being emptied, is returned to a removal position. The method is characterised in that a code arranged on the container is read by a code-reading device, and as the container is moved between the discharge position and a receiving position or the removal position, the weight of the said container is determined and this weight is allocated to the code read by the code-reading device.
