POROUS COMPOSITE MATERIAL, PREPARATION THEREOF AND MOLDED BODY

PURPOSE:To impart secondary thermal moldability and to mold various complicated shapes by forming a thermoplastic resin layer to the surface of the non- foamed part of open-cell soft urethane foam. CONSTITUTION:A porous composite material is formed by forming a thermoplastic resin layer to the surface of the non-foamed part of open-cell soft urethane foam. The thermoplastic resin to be used may have such a property that the open-cell soft urethane foam impregnated with said resin can be substantially molded under heating or a property generating a three-dimensional structure by crosslinking reaction after heat-molding. The open-cell soft urethane foam is pref. treated with the thermoplastic resin according to a method for impregnating the open-cell soft urethane foam with the thermoplastic resin in a solution or dispersion state to dry the impregnated one. There is no special limit in drying after the foam is impregnated with the impregnation solution but the combination of hot air and radiation heat is most excellent.
