<p>The light, inexpensive air bag has improved rebound preventing characteristics and obtained through the steps of forming a bag body (1), which has a gas generator fixing opening (4), by combining (9) the circumferential portions of at least two pieces of woven (2,3), and providing films (5,6,7,8) of coating on predetermined parts of the outer surface of the bag body so that these films work as both bag body-reinforcing members and drive-protecting members, with the areas or regions (2a,3a), on which the films of coating are not provided, determined suitably in accordance with the gas-permeability of the woven cloths to use these regions as air discharge surfaces. If the combining portion is formed by a combined single-layer texture, an air bag having further improved performance and capable of being manufactured at a lower cost can be obtained.</p> |
