PURPOSE:To read with high accuracy the picture information held by a transmissive original and a reflecting original by using a light transmissive plate forming a recessing/projecting surface and another light transmissive plate applying a reflection preventing means. CONSTITUTION:A 1st press cover 58 contains a 1st light transmissive plate which is held by a frame body 77 and a press glass 78. A recessing/projecting surface 82 is formed to the cover 58 at the inner surface side of the glass 78 and at the single surface side opposite to a reflecting original S2. In this case, the original S2 is held by a platen glass 56 via the surface 82 of the glass 78. Thus the original S2 is never adhered to the glass 78. While a transmissive original S1 is set on the glass 78 and at the same time a press glass 88 having a reflection preventing coating layer 88a is put on the original S1. Then the transmitted illumination light L1 is reflected by a hair line mirror and irradiates the original S1 in the form of the diffused beams via the glass 56 and the glass 78. Thus both originals S2 and S1 can be surely read. |
