PURPOSE:To easily execute a heat treatment by a method wherein, after a winding operation has been executed, an electric current is caused to flow to a wire material and the heat treatment is executed by heating by the use of Joule heat generated inside the wire material. CONSTITUTION:A power supply 4 is connected to both ends 2 and 3 of a wire material which has been wound as a coil 1. The superconducting coil 1 is put inside a heat-insulating container 6 and an electric current is applied in a heat- insulating state, the Joule heat is generated inside the wire material and the coil is heated. A temperature is monitored by using a thermometer 5 attached to the superconducting coil 1; the electric current to be applied is adjusted; the coil is heated at a proper temperature. When this heat treatment has been finished, the electric current is stopped; the coil is cooled. Thereby, a large-sized coil can be heat-treated easily without a need for a large heating furnace. |
