PRINTING METHOD AND PRINTED SUPPORT

PURPOSE: To obtain an advantageous hot melt ink jet printing method in which a solid ink composition comprises either a specified dispersion or a colored condensation polymer. CONSTITUTION: A solid ink composition comprises either a solution or a dispersion of a dye or a finely divided pigment in a haloganated hydrocarbon having a melting point of at least 50 deg.C (ink A), or a colored condensation polymer obtained by reacting a polymerizable lactone or a hydroxyalkanoic acid with a dye containing at least one active hydrogen atom (ink B). Preferably, the haloganated hydrocarbon is chlorinated paraffin containing 65-72 wt.% of chlorine obtained by chlorinating paraffin or a C18 -C33 paraffin compound, the polymerizable lactone is caprolactone and the hydroxyalkanoic acid is ω- hydroxydodecane acid.
