<p>PURPOSE: To prevent long, painful extraction of a base structure from a jawbone in case of an implanting rod breaking by connecting the implanting rod to a stiff inner sleeve connected with the base structure. CONSTITUTION: A base structure 20 can be inserted into a cavity prepared in a jawbone or into an extraction cavity in the jawbone in such a manner that the base structure 10 properly fits in the cavity when a patient is being treated. The base structure 20 sets in the cavity in a manner resembling a bone after about three months. The structure 20 is ideally made of titanium or a titanium alloy, and its exterior surface is coated in such a manner suitable for the tissue. The structure 20 opens at the top and is equipped with an inside screw. An inner sleeve 30 is equipped with an outside screw with which it can be screwed to the inner screw. At the upper edge of a separating sleeve 70, the screwed inner sleeve 30 is supported by a ring-shaped flange 38. An implanting rod 10 is made of plastic which can be elastically deformed, and is connected to the inner sleeve by a screw.</p> |
