PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizing agent containing extract from one or more kinds of plants selected from Plantago major L. var. asiatica or plant analogous thereto as an active ingredient, having high mouth odor-deodorizing force and excellent safety to human body and effective for oral cavity, household use and industry. CONSTITUTION:The aimed agent containing at least either one position or extract thereof among ground parts, root parts or seeds of at least one or more kinds of plants selected from (Plantago major L. var. asiatica) or analog plants thereof as an active ingredient. When the agent is used, the agent is prepared in a form of solution, paste, powder, etc. The above-mentioned effective ingredient is used at an amount of 0.001-50%, especially preferably 0.001-10% based on total deodorizing agent. Furthermore, Plantago major L., Plantago depressa willd, Plantago lanceoatalinn, etc., is extracted using a solvent (water, methanol, n-hexane, etc.) and used as an active ingredient. |
