PURPOSE:To continuously manufacture an oxide superconductive wire rod with fully removed cavities and extremely high critical current density by preheating a sintered-structure wire rod at 700 deg.C or more before heating a raw wire rod further at a temperature of melted point or more on a local basis to form a melted portion. CONSTITUTION:A sintered raw wire rod 1 with superconductive composition of a Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O group is preheated at 700 deg.C or more in an atmosphere of being depressurized to 0.1-0.5. This preheated raw wire rod 1 is locally heated at a temperature of melted point or more under the depressurized atmosphere to form a melted portion 3, which is solidated under the depressurized atmosphere. As a result, even if the viscocity of the melted portion is raised to enough value or more to hold the melted portion between the sintered raw wire rod and the solidated one, cavities in an oxide superconductive wire rod after melted and solidated can be remarkably decreased to permit stable manufacture of the oxide superconductive wire rod of high critical current density. |
