PURPOSE:To engage engaging grooves of an empty bobbin with engaging protrusions of a bobbin wheel and mount the empty bobbin completely on the bobbin wheel, by pressing the empty bobbin downward with a pressing means, and rotating the bobbin wheel with the empty bobbin in the suppressed rotation state. CONSTITUTION:Each empty bobbin (5A) is hung with a doffing arm 35 (35A or 35B) and then engaged with an engaging part 8 of a bobbin wheel 7. In the proccess, if engaging grooves (5b) provided at the bottom of the empty bobbin (5A) are not engaged with engaging protrusions (8a) of the bobbin wheel 7, the empty bobbin (5A) is pressed with a pressing plate 36 and a braking piece 37, e.g. a sponge, provided additionally at the tip of the doffing arm 35 to suppress the rotation thereof. In this state, the bobbin wheel 7 is slowly rotated with a single driving apparatus to engage the protrusions (8a) with the engaging grooves (5b). After releasing the doffing arm 35 from the empty bobbin (5A), a bobbin rail 6 is lifted to put the top hole (5e) of the empty bobbin (5A) mounted on the bobbin wheel 7 into a bobbin guide leg 4. |
