NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic substance MI424-38F1 expressed by the formula and salts thereof. [Physico-chemical properties] Appearance; (K<+> salt); colorless needlelike crystal. Melting point (K<+> salt); 70-72 deg.C. Specific rotatory power (K<+> salt); [alpha] =-4.8 deg. (c 0.5; chloroform). Solubility (K<+> salt); soluble in chloroform, ethyl acetate, ethanol, methanol and water and sparingly soluble in heptane, etc. USE:A medicine, antimicrobial agent, etc. PREPARATION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce an antibiotic substance MI424-38F1, such as an actinomyces MI424-38F1 (FERM P-10279) separated from soil in BUNKYO Ward in TOKYO Metropolis, is cultured in a nutrient culture medium at about 15-40 deg.C under aerobic submerged conditions while being stirred to isolate the antibiotic substance expressed by the formula from the resultant culture by utilizing a difference from impurities in solubility or difference in adsorption affinity of various adsorbents or using extraction with a water-immiscible solvent, etc., alone or in combination, etc. |
