PURPOSE: To reduce forming of bedsore tumores, by forming a support system by flexible material impermeable against fluid contained in cavities and composing the same into a dimension and a form so that the center distance of expanded neighboring cavities is shorter than the two point discrimination threshold value of a human. CONSTITUTION: A mattress system 20 comprises an independent cavities' layer 21, which is above a heating element layer 22, a fiber layer 23, and a high frictional layer 24. The independent cavities' layer 21 has a multiplicity of cavities 27, which can be inflated by heating fluid filled into cavities by a means for heating the fluid to generate steam and inflate the cavities, and can be deflated by chilling the fluid. A means 28 for heating the heating element layer 22 and a means 29 for chilling it are used for heating and chilling the adjacent cavities 27, respectively, so that the cavities can be easily controlled to be inflated or deflated. A multiplicity of cavities 27 are formed of a soft material, and the center distance of neighboring cavities is made into a dimension and a form narrower than the two point discrimination threshold value of a human so that a user's weight can be supported without abutting on the base. |
