<p>PURPOSE:To enable micro-dispersion of an inorg. pigment in oil varnish by flushing, by treating the surface of the inorg. pigment in a specified manner. CONSTITUTION:0.01-5pts. surfactant contg. a polyester molecular chain as a lipophilic atom group is added to 100pts. aq. pigment dispersion (composed of 60-95% water, 3-25% pigment and 2-15% other water-insoluble matter) synthesized by using water as a medium, to allow the surfactant to be adsorbed on the surfaces of the pigment particles. 1-10pts. aq. alkaline soln. of (modified) rosin such as gum rosin or a maleic acid-modified rosin is added thereto to form a (modified) rosin coating. Then the treated pigment is mixed in a wetted state with oil varnish, pref. a high-viscosity varnish. The mixture is thoroughly stirred to remove water which is separated from the oil varnish phase, whereby oil varnish contg. pigment (fine particles having a particle size of 0.03-1mu) dispersed therein can be obtd.</p> |
