PREPARATION OF TRANSFER SHEET

PURPOSE:To manufacture efficiently a transfer sheet and to obtain the transfer sheet with a stable peel-off strength by performing simultaneously a process heating and curing a thermosetting resin for forming a release layer with drawing a base sheet. CONSTITUTION:A base sheet 1 extrusion-molded into a sheet from a T-die 3 set at an apex of an extruder 2 is drawn in the longitudinal direction through a longitudinal drawing rollers 4. As the base sheet 1, polyethylene terephthalate is usually used. It is pref. that when the drawing of the base sheet 1 in the longitudinal direction is performed the heating temp. is 80-150 deg.C and the draw ratio in the longitudinal direction is 300-500%. The base sheet 1 is coated with a resin for forming a release layer consisting of a thermosetting resin in a coating zone. The base sheet 1 is passed through a tenter 8 heated therein and drawn in the transverse direction. The heating temp. for drawing in the transverse direction is 100-250 deg.C. The resin for forming the release layer is cured by this heating and the release layer is formed. A transfer layer is then formed on the surface of the release layer and a transfer sheet is thereby obtd.
