PURPOSE:To prevent secondary infection or environmental pollution due to pathogenic bacteria by a method wherein the steam generated from an object to be treated heated by a heater is passed through a discharge passage to be subjected to deodorizing treatment and, after the finish of sterilization treatment, said steam is cooled to room temp. by the low temp. open air. CONSTITUTION:An entrance and exit 2 is opened and a non-cambustible container V having an object to be treated such as a syringe received therein is placed on the tray 6 drawn out on a door 3 and, thereafter, the door 3 is closed. Next, a far infrared heater 8 and an exhaust fan 9 are operated by a control box 16 to perform dry sterilization treatment under atmospheric pressure. The internal temp. of the heating chamber S of a sterilization process is uniformly held to the killing temp. of pathogenic bacteria or more. The steam and malodor generated from the object to be treated is mixed with the open air introduced into a discharge passage 14 to be lowered in its temp. and deodorized by a deodorizing filter 12 to be discharged to the outside of a housing 1. After the sterilization process is finished, an air supply fan 11 is operated to introduce the open air and the cooling of the heating chamber S is promoted.
