PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a trouble, such as the frequent occurrence of slip off a ring and fluffing and production of thread waste, even if unwinding is effected at a high speed, by a method wherein, in a ring refining machine, a balloon control cylinder, with which a tube system to be unwound is covered, is elevatably located. CONSTITUTION:With a motor 7 driven, elevation of an elevating table 8 is adjusted through a screw shaft 5 so that, when a sensor 13 is located facing the upper end of a layer of a thread 4 through control of the position of a mounting plate 12 to the elevating table 8, a distance l between an average separating point A of the thread 4 and a lower end P of a balloon control cylinder 11 is adjusted to a distance L previously determined by a test and prevailing when a balloon first produced is expanded to a fullest size. This causes increase of a separating angle theta of a thread and causes an unwound thread 4 to be difficult to make contact with a bobbin 3 or the thread. Thereafter, with a winder actuated, the elevating table 8 is gradually lowered so that the distance l is maintained at the set distance L with the progress of unwinding. This enables to perform excellent high speed unwinding. |
