<p>PURPOSE:To uniformly harden and heat a material by additionally providing a piece for increasing the energized range of a coil in the induction-hardening device provided with the coil arranged close to the surface of the rotating material to be hardened. CONSTITUTION:The coil 1B is arranged close to the material 1A to be hardened, and the material 1A is induction-hardened. The pieces 1B2 protruding toward the surface of the material 1A and having the length of half the length of the enclosing parts 1B1 opposed to the material 1A are alternately fixed to the enclosing parts 1B1 in their longitudinal direction. Consequently, an exciting current is generated over the whole area of the region to be hardened, and the material is uniformly hardened.</p> |
