PURPOSE:To prevent a slip between a strip and a roll or between respective rolls, by constituting a backup roll of a tension leveler of a driving shaft and a rotatable roll shell having constant resistance against the driving shaft. CONSTITUTION:Three driving shafts 20 are connected as a driving shaft of a backup roll, and this driving shaft 20 is provided with a cylindrical roll shell 26 having a constant resistance and being rotatable. When a motor is rotated, rotating force is transmitted to a backup roll shaft 20, also is transmitted to the roll shell 26 through a deep groove ball bearing 27 and an oil seal 28, and the backup roll shaft and the roll shell 26 are rotated as one body. Therefore, the rotating force of the backup roll shaft 20 works only as auxiliary force for rotating the roll shell 26, and if rotation resistance of the roll shell 26 is made large, the roll shell 26 can be rotated even if tension of a strip is small, and a slip between a strip and a work roll or between respective rolls can be prevented. |
