PURPOSE:To change dies of a press machine safely, cheaply and in a short time by placing dies to be changed on auxiliary stands provided in the direction of a moving of a moving bolster, and moving the auxiliary stands and the bolster on which used dies are placed. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary stands 6, 7 are fixed on both sides of the moving direction of the moving bolster 3 of a press machine. An upper die 4' and a lower die 5' to be changed are placed beforehand on an auxiliary stand 7 and a used upper die 4 is unclamped from a slide ram 2 and a lower die 5 is unclamped from the moving bolster 3. Next, the moving bolster 3 and auxiliary stands 6, 7 are moved in the direction of an arrow by a distance S. Under this condition, stoppers 8, 9 provided on the press frame 1 allowing putting in and out are set at a position where they nearly strike lower dies 5, 5'. By returning the moving bolster 3 to original position, used dies 4, 5 are transferred to the auxiliary stand 6, and dies 4', 5' to be changed can be set at the center of the press machine. |
