PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium with excellent durability by incorporating a specific ester compd. into the magnetic layer formed on a nonmagnetic supporting body. CONSTITUTION:The ester compd. express by formula I (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched chain of alkyl group or alkenyl group with 1-10 carbons and R2 and R3 are aliphatic hydrocarbon groups with 3-21 carbons) is added as a lubricant to the magnetic layer formed on a polyester film. The magnetic layer also contains magnetic powder and a binder. By using a specific ester compd. as the lubricant for the magnetic layer, the magnetic recording medium with excellent durability can be obtained. |
