PURPOSE:To prevent a short-cycle operation, in which the air discharged is taken in again, by providing at the air outlet in a casing a duct for the discharged air which is extended approximately at right angles to the direction of the air blown out. CONSTITUTION:An attachment 8 for an air-discharge duct is mounted on the top side of a casing 41 with an opening in alignment with the air outlet. An air-discharge duct 9 is provided by joining it with the attachment for an air- discharge duct. The air-discharge duct 9 is extended along the floor of the veranda of an upper story, that is, approximately at right angles to the direction of the air blown out, and to the side end of a multistoried building. A plurality of air-discharge openings 10 provided in the air-discharge duct open outward relative to the multistoried building so that, when the air conditioner is in operation, the discharged air, blown out through the air outlet 43, is conveyed in a current through the attachment 8 for the air-discharge duct and the air- discharge duct 9 and discharged outward through the plurality of air-discharge openings 10. Since each of the air-discharge openings 10 is positioned at a distance from the air inlet 42 in the casing 41, the discharged air may possibly flow downward but is not sucked into the air inlet again. |
