PURPOSE: To obtain a system capable of self-correcting the steady flow and flow rate of make-up ink compensating evaporation loss without being accompanied by vibration so as to add the make-up ink to the system with evaporation by providing a means comparing a set point value with mounting quantity cyclically to generate an error signal and combining the proportional, differentiated and integrated values led out by this signal to generate a valve ON-time signal. CONSTITUTION: In an ink jet system, a pressure pipe 10 has float switches A, B operated by the change of the ink level in the pipe. The pipe is repeatedly filled with ink and emptied when the ink flows to the pressure pipe from a sump 12 through a pump 14. The ink not adapted to a substrate returns to the sump through an ink return system 18. Make-up ink is housed in the sump 20 separated from a sump 22 of fresh ink and valves 24, 26 control the addition of the make-up ink and the fresh ink to the sump 12. A make-up ink valve 24 is controlled by an electronic control device 28 receiving the flow rate data from the pressure pipe 10 through the switches A, B and the control of a flow rate is executed by this programmed microcomputer system. |
