The electrical safety socket and adapter comprise two capacitive capacitors 13-16 fixed to the body, the back (bottom) 3 of which comprises the mechanical connection elements. The capacitors are soldered to the two pins 8-9, to two "tiristars" 14-35, to a switch 36, which brings them back to a rest position by means of a spring, and to the contacts of the two holes 21-22. The holes 21-22 of the adapter are free of electric current if the switch 36 is released. An electrical overcharge empties the capacitors, reverses the "tiristars" 14-35 and releases the switch 36. The adapter furthermore comprises anchoring prongs made on the pins 8-9 engaging in a socket, the prongs preventing pull out of the adapter when it is inserted. Other means of protection, such as a differential circuit breaker, can be used in this socket and in this electrical safety adapter without affecting the originality of the invention. <IMAGE>
