The present invention relates to a new electronic device using solar cells to bring about the migration of water towards ground lacking in water. The device comprises a source of direct current for polarisation 4 based on solar cells, on which is superposed a pulse-shaped or sinusoidal electronic signal 5 for depolarisation. The whole of the electric field is applied between a plant 6 equipped with its roots 8 playing the role of ion-exchanging diaphragm and a source of water situated a few hundred metres away 1. The present invention is used in geophysics and in the agricultural industry. <IMAGE>
