The present disclosure refers to atwo-stage turbo-charged internal combustion engine comprises a first stage turbo-charger (28) and a first cooler (44) arranged on a first side (16) of a crankcase (10), which first side is located at one end of the crankshaft, a second stage turbo-charger (36) and a second cooler (46) arranged on an opposite side of the crankcase. Fresh air flows through a compressor (30) of the first stage turbo-charger (28), the first cooler (44), the compressor (38) of the second stage turbo-charger (36) and the second cooler (46) to an intake manifold (24). The exhaust manifold (26) is connected to inlet openings (72, 74) of turbines (32, 34) of the turbo-chargers (28, 36). |
