PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable device of high manufacturing efficiency in which the transfer of a lithium sheet to a separator is simplified and negative assemblies can be continuously massproduced by fixing a slack separator and each negative active material member one upon another by pressure, then taking up the slack in the separator before the negative active material members are placed at equal intervals. CONSTITUTION:A long separator 4-1 is wrapped around an enfolding drum 14 by a given dimension by means of a few enfolding pins 13 provided on the drum 14. Next, a lithium sheet 2' formed in the former process is transferred by means of a urethane rope 10 placed in a conveyance drum 15 in such a manner that the break of the lithium sheet 2' corresponds to the rolled end of the separator 4-1. The separator 4-1 and lithium sheets 2' wrapped around the drum 14 are passed through a roll 17 in order to partially press and fix together the lithium sheets 2' and the separator 4-1 by means of several convex areas 16 provided on the surface of the drum 14. The circumference of one of a pair of cutting rolls 18 is worked so that the partially pressed and fixed lithium sheet 2' can be held between the rolls 18. After the lithium sheet 2' is held between the rolls 18, the lithium sheet 2' is pulled at a speed higher than the moving speed of the former process thereby separating the lithium sheet 2' at its break.
