PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency of plate face flatness adjustment by tensing a piano wire between the uppermost stage and the lowermost stage at each longitudinal line of a unit plate and between the uppermost stage and the lowermost stage of a lateral line so as to adjust the flatness after the flatness of the unit plate at four corners of a reflecting plate is adjusted. CONSTITUTION:A scale 14 is stood to the unit plate 2 at four corners of a reflecting plate 1 and the four corners are adjusted to be on a flat plane by adjusting the adjusting bolts in the direction of the reflecting plate so as to obtain the reading of the scale to be a prescribed value (a). Then a piano wire 15 is tensed between the uppermost stage and the lowermost stage at each longitudinal line of the unit plate 2 and a piece 16 having a thickness of (b) is insertbetween the end of the piano wire 15 and the plate face. A piano wire 17 is tensed between the uppermost and the lowermost stage of each lateral line of the plate face and a piece 18 having a prescribed thickness (c) is inserted between the end of the piano wire 17 and the plate face. A bolt 11 is adjusted so as to form the distance between the plate face of the uppermost and lowermost stages of lateral line and the piano wire 17 to be equal to the length (c) of the piece 18, and the bolt 11 is adjusted so as to form the distance between each unit plate and the longitudinal piano wire 15 to be the size (b).
